Hello Friends!
Just wanted to pop in and share a quick post.
I was just so anxious to show off this recent furniture redo that I did for my lovely client , Sharon.
Sharon gave me free range to work some magic on her sweet petite cabinet. I love that, being able to just go with it! The only guidelines that I had were to stay within the Frenchy blue grey color and to use book pages from one of Sharon's childhood books, The Mystery at the Ski Jump a Nancy Drew Mystery Story.
So check out these pictures and let me know what ya think.
Here is the before and after
what a transformation, isn't it?
I first painted the entire piece in a custom mix of Annie Sloan's decorative chalk paint in Napoleonic Blue, French Linen, and American Paint Co.'s Home Plate to come up with a pale bluish grey. Then I covered the entire piece with a wash of American Paint Co. Rushmore ( which is a taupey grey).
Next came the fun part. when I really make this piece unique.
I added a stencil to the painted doors . And also crackled the drawer.
Highlighted some of the Cabinets details by painting it Navajo White by American Paint co.
The decoupage book pages on the side panels and also on the backboard behind the shelfs in the inside of the glass door.
I also added thin 1" stripes down the sides for extra pizzas!
Distressed all the edges and applied a clear wax to complete the cabinet.
Isn't this china cabinet so super sweet!
It was a joy to paint.
oh how I would love to put this in my room at Deep Creek Vintage in Fredericksburg! But it already has a home and I can't wait to deliver it to Sharon, hope she falls in love with it like I did!
I better go back to work , I've got lots more furniture to paint! If your local to Richmond then you should come visit me at The Vintage Home Market in 2 weeks!
hope you enjoyed
thank you for visiting
until next time
