Harlequin Drop Leaf Antique Table

Good Day Friends!

Its been a good month, ive gone to some Fantastic Auctions and have picked up some Fantastic pieces! 

The Hunt is by far my favorite part of "Junking" I absolutely LOve Auctions and Flea Markets i could literaly go everyday if money and time weren't an issue. :) But I also love Painting ~ And Annie has made my life easier and so much more creative. I Love adding decorative touches to my furniture now. ive really been on a kick lately and am having so much fun with Chalk Paint!

Usually i pass up drop leaf tables at auctions especially if they are mahogany. Not because they're too much money but because I don't know they just seem sooo sad and droopy and before chalk paint mahogany was such a pain to paint all that stripping sanding and priming! I Hate the prep work and sometimes its just not worth it. although When i saw this beauty she did seem a bit sad to me she was screaming "make me beautiful"!! So that i did....

 c. 1930's Antique Drop Leaf Table w/ gorgeous Deco carved Legs

 First i stripped the top down to the bare wood then applied Louis Blue diamonds and in the center where the diamonds meet i randomly stenciled a floral vine(Martha Stewart) in Aubbuson Blue. Next i stained the entire top in Miniwax Dark Walnut and top it off with two coats of poly. The legs and apron were also painted in ASCP Aubbuson Blue and finished with dark wax.

 And here she is all nestled in the shop waiting to be loved by another

I knew right away how i was gonna dress her up. I've been fascinated with the Harlequin pattern lately and couldn't wait to paint it on a piece of furniture and this antique drop leaf table was Perfect!

Atlas Map Chest

Hello Friends!

Purple Vintage book bundle nesting w/ a pair of partridges

I had a lot of fun with this project can't wait to share it w/ Y'all

I was lucky enough to get the coolest vintage atlas at auction it has a ton of the most vivid pictures and the pages are real soft and just starting to turn that perfect yellowy (hmm Tattered elegance word) color around the edges. I love vintage ephemera.

I had this boring ( sorry no before pics) 3 drawer chest that desperately needed some jazz. So i decided to marry my cool atlas map pages and the how hum chest and voila!!!

 I added those cute lil bun feet to the bottom so this chest would have a bit of height and detail

 Isn't it awesome! I simply decoupaged the pages to the drawer fronts and to the top.

 Here's a tip... When Decoupaging~  to eliminate wrinkles wet your paper first before applying to your project and use a credit card to smooth over the paper to get rid of those air bubbles, and be patient (hardest part for me) let your masterpiece dry overnight before sealing with your final coat of decoupage. And also let dry before trying to trim up edges!!

 So I am all moved into my new space at A Unique House Antique Mall

 Its so nice to stretch out

 Since these pictures ~ the pair of mirrors flanking the fireplace has sold

 And the ASCP Aubbuson BLue/ Old White cabinet has SOLD

 I love my diamond painted floors can you see the flur-de-lis ?

Aqua Buffet

 Hello Friends!!

 I sure have missed y'all!

 Its summer (my fav season!) usually my summer days are spent watching my kids splash in the pool, becoming engulfed in a book, trying to beautify my 18 acres of jungle that is a  landscaping chaos which i do actually enjoy, or simply doing nothing but relaxing on Holden Beach. But Nope not this year! Its been a whirlwind of hunting, cleaning, sanding, painting, moving furniture ( aw my back!) oh and a whole lot of sweating ~ geezs its been a hot one!

Don't ya just love this quote.  Stenciled on drop cloth fabric then wrap around a piece of foam board ~ makes a great wall hanging

 I am trying to grow my business, luckily I was offered the opportunity to practically triple my space at Time N Again Antiques. Its so exciting now with a larger area im able to really spread my wings and bring in alot more furniture. Which seems to fly right out the door! So its been pretty crazy just trying to fill and keep my space filled up.

And then as soon as i had a nice stash of furniture at home patiently waiting its turned to shine in the shop, The Lord opened another door for me.  the dealer next to me at A Unique House Antique Mall where i also rent a space decided to move on so i was able to double my 8 x 10 booth!! So then everything from home went to my booth.  Its a fantastic opportunity to really showcase my junk. :) So needless to say blogging has been on the back burner for awhile.  I do love being busy though! Just wish my office (aka garage) was air conditioned.

Well with all that said i was able in a the craziness to capture some before and after pictures.

Beautiful Buffet After...

 Pretty Pretty Aqua!  I custom mixed this color and it turned out exactly how i hoped for.

 Miniwax dark walnut stain on top and ASCP dark wax over the aqua and lightly distressed. I spray painted the original drawer pulls silver and on the doors i picked up a pair of silver and mirror knobs at Hobby Lobby. Bling!

 LOVE!!  I only wish it would've lasted a bit longer in the shop so i could have decorated/ played with it a little bit more ~ it was SOLD within a week!

Chalk paint China Cabinet

Hello There Everyone! 
First of all i want to give a Great Big Shout Out to Elizabeth & Co for featuring my Rag A Muffin Wreath!!!

How awesome is that?! It completly made my day I haven't stoped smiling since I found out! Thank You so much Elizabeth & Co.!!!

 If you follow me on facebook ya might have already seen my china cabinet. Sure wish i had some before pictures but im sure you can imagine it. It wasn't to funky when i got it just ya know that boring 70's style dreary brown~blah.

 I hit the jackpot not too long ago at the Thrift store ~ for no reason other than it was my lucky day , all furniture was 50% off! And they had really cool stuff! Usually its hit or miss (often miss for me) but nonetheless there is this incredible urge to pop in every time i drive by a thrift store. Well thank goodness i did that day because im just loven my "new" China cabinet!

 In fact im loven it so much ~ Instead of it being in the shop where it was suppose to go , its found a home in my dining room. At least for now ~ Well ya know how it works... until something else comes along :) { Best part about this business is being able to flip my furniture OFTEN!}

I decided to go with ASCP, of coarse duhhh! I used Old White for the base and my new Fav French Linen on the drawers, crown, and the footing.  Just one coat of clear wax did the trick. It is as smooth as my baby bum! Love that Chalk Paint!! 

 Those colors remind me alot of Restoration Hardware ish. It neutral just matches perfectly with everything.  I adore the color combination.

The really fun part was decorating this beauty~ check out the bling! Hobby Lobby knobs YES!! sooo cheap i think i only paid $5 each ( on sale ) Now that im thinking about it i should've took every single knob that they had left ~ dang!

Filled to the brim with antique Ironstone, bits of creamy milk glass, romantic paper roses, my collection of white head vases and crystal decanters. And a few scattered personal pieces like my daughters oil painting of a conch shell, a rock my son colored for me years ago, my firefighters pair of vintage steins, and lastly looking down on us all , the Eagle left to me from my PaPa Goodman.

The Luckett's Fair part 3 ~Wrap up

Hello friends!

there has been alot of buzz about Luckett's Spring Market that happened last weekend. It was sooo much fun and soooo inspirational! But boy talk about too much stimulation! Although a week has gone by now, and I think everyone has kinda settled back into regular routine. Ive noticed alot of shopkeepers have refreshed and updated their spaces and have posted some beautiful pictures. the life of a retailer never slows down!

I wanted to share with you the last bit of my snaps that i took while i was enjoying myself in my own little heaven at Luckett's .

 I wanted to buy EVERYTHING in this booth. I absolutely Love their style ~ so clean and eloquent and so many natural elements. I adore the way they incorporate the outdoors with their decor. I mean this branches display draped across a handcrafted HUgE Farm table hung with mason jars filled with candles was to die for! How clever and what a statement. If i were to give out awards for the most awesome Tabletop display Ekster Antiques would definitely win hands down!!

Oak Leaf Wreaths

 Tons of these Antique Mirrors ~ they had to be at least 9' tall!!

 I was sooo in love with this zinc topped table! This was my favorite piece of furniture of the day. I would've snatched it up in a heartbeat but it was a bit pricey for me (around $800). I even went back later in the day so I could take more pictures of it and try to be just be satisfied with drooling over it on my camera~ but when i went back it was GONE!! I know its not healthy to be jealous but dang im sooo envious of the lucky person that walked away with "my" coffee table!

This was a constant image throughout the day. Boys in pink shirts carrying furniture and goods out the gates! So many treasures flying out of the Fair! These hardworking boys got their workout for the day!

And Last but not Least...

that mirror was suppose to be mine but unfortunately it was SOLD by the time i got there!

Walking into this booth was kinda like taking a vacation ~ its like you felt as if you were taking to another place full of happy!

I'm fortunate enough to live about 90 minutes from Through the Garden Gate store and i can honestly say its one of my favorite places. Plenty of Gorgeous Faux fabric Flowers everywhere you look, a sea of heavenly White furniture, burlap and linens soften every inch, one of a Kind Handcrafted Pieces, Iron and Garden accessories to make you Swoon, and now Magnolia Pearl!!  And also lets not forget about the HUGE antique Mall that is in the same building!

Aren't these repurposed industrial lights so cool!

Through the Gardens Gates booth was pure joy! I loved every bit of it!

Well Folks that all of the Luckett's Eye Candy that i have left. I had a blast and can't wait till next year. ~ Who knows maybe i'll try to be a vendor next year and see what its like on the other end of the party!
